HAPPY CAMPER GUIDE

FRIENDLY REMINDERS & TIPS BEFORE YOU ARRIVE

Festival Gates Open at Noon, Thursday

Festival gates open at noon on Thursday. No early admittance to campers. Gates close nightly at 10pm so please arrive earlier. Driving on the Festival site after dark is prohibited.

After dark arrivals

If you arrive after dark, you’ll need to park your car in day parking near the front gate and either walk into the Festival site with your gear, or sleep in your car and drive in the next morning.

Leave your furry friends at home

Sorry, there are no pets of any kind allowed at the festival.

RVs and campers

If you came to Ness 2015 (aka WetNess), you probably saw a few camper vans and RVs get stuck. After the jams and the damage caused by too many large camper units that year, we now offer limited access to camper units over 20’ in length. To be able to bring one in, you will need to purchase a separate Camper Unit Pass. Limited passes are available online. This ticket must be used in conjunction with a weekend pass and the holder of the pass must be on the Ness Creek site by 9pm on Friday, July 14, 2023 or else they forgo their reserved spot and may not be able to bring their over 20’ camper unit on site.

If you have any questions about this policy, feel free to send us an email at: admin@nesscreek.com.

Weather conditions or unusual events may require that we temporarily restrict RVs to the 1st Field.

Park it

You’ll park your car at your campsite. Try to plan to park your car for the weekend. We highly encourage you to take advantage of our daytime shuttle service and nightly safe ride program. Driving on site after hours is prohibited.

Stay off the road

Keep all roadways and emergency exits clear at all times. These are tow away zones. Watch for signs.

NO glass allowed

It is inevitable that glass will break and someone in bare feet will step on it. Leave it at home, and bring cans, tetra packs, and boxed beverages instead.

Camp Recovery

This is an inclusive camping area for people living in recovery from addiction, which is located in the in the gate loop off the first field. We acknowledge that people may be in different phases of their recovery journey, and that journey is different for everyone. We are a family friendly camping area where open drug use and drinking are not allowed. Whether you are just starting on your path of recovery or you have been at it awhile, all are welcome.

Family Camping

The Crooked Creek Camping Loop is designated as family camping. This means that campers in this area will be asked to be reasonably quiet once it’s dark out and should expect it to get noisy and overrun with children very early in the morning.

Can it

This is a live music festival so leave your canned music at home. Amplified instruments and radios interfere with the festival. We encourage acoustic jamming in the camp fields, but please be respectful of your neighbours and please note that from midnight to noon, drumming is only allowed in the Drum & Dance Circle.

Fires in provided fire pits only

Forest fires are a real concern and, as such, fires are only allowed in Ness Creek appointed fire pits. For the safety of all, not everyone can have their own campfire so grab your camping chair and make new friends!

All fires must have 5 gallons of emergency water nearby. Need a 5 gallon bucket? Visit your Campground Host Station and they’ll make sure you can have a safe, cozy campfire.

Be prepared for the elements

Ness Creek is a rain or shine event. Make sure to consider the forces of nature when setting up your campsite. Chasing a tent can be fun, but you’ll probably enjoy the festival more if you don’t have to disentangle your sleeping quarters from a tree.

Water Access

Potable water  is supplied in large tanks in 2nd and 3rd fields. Bring your own jug to fill up. Remember that supply is limited so please be conscious of your consumption and do not leave the tap running. There is also potable water available at the Drum and Dance Circle and in the Downtown Food Court for those camping in the first field.

Secure your grub

Keep your campsite clear of bear attractants for the safety of campers and wildlife alike. Food, toiletries, etc. must be stored in your car or hard-topped trailer.

Pack it in, pack it out

Help us minimize our environmental footprint and preserve our boreal forest home. If you brought it with you, take it when you go. This includes gum wrappers, rope, bottle caps, and cigarette butts.

24 hour first aid

Assistance is available from the First Aid Tent near the Info Booth.

See the map for directions. Look for this symbol:

Please drink responsibly

Ness Creek is a public venue, therefore liquor may only be consumed in your campsite or the licenced downtown area. Random bag searches will be conducted. The RCMP is on hand and will issue fines starting at $500.

Mind your butts

Cigarette butts are a fire hazard. Please dispose of them properly in an airtight container (such as a Ness Creek pocket ashtray). Ask our campground hosts for a butt-pack if you didn’t come prepared. Please be mindful of no smoking signage in the following locations: Food Court, Children’s Area, Drum & Dance Circle, Playground, Workshop Stage, Sharing Circle, and in front of the Main Stage.

Zero tolerance of fireworks

Fireworks are a severe wildfire hazard and a danger to other campers. Anyone found in possession of fireworks will be immediately removed from the festival. Rewards for tips and leads about fireworks.

Zero tolerance of violence

Anyone acting, or threatening to act, with violence will be immediately removed from the festival grounds and refused re-entry.

RespectfulNess

We ask that you do your part in preserving the magic of Ness by being mindful of others, interact respectfully with one another and the boreal forest we call home.

Make Friends

If you see someone sitting alone, go be their new friend.
