About Ness
As we gather in this special place, we acknowledge we are on Treaty 6 Territory and the Homeland of the Metis. We pay our respect to the First Nation and Metis ancestors of this place and reaffirm our relationship with one another.
We are honored to share space with the traditional stewards of this land, the Indigenous people.

Our Roots
The Ness Creek Music Festival was built on the legacy of a smaller event called “The Ecological Fair,” held in 1989 and 1990 near the current Festival site. These were small gatherings that featured ecological workshops and displays, and local musicians on a small evening stage. In 1991 the first Ness Creek Music Festival was held in its current location, maintaining the environmental focus of the original Ecological Fair but putting an increased emphasis on musical and cultural components.
Since then it has grown from humble roots – a two-day event with 150 attendees – to becoming an integral part of the Saskatchewan summer experience. Now spanning four days in July, the Festival features over 100 artistic and cultural performances and participatory activities across thirteen festival venues and a crowd of over 3000 attendees, artists, volunteers and staff.
